Getting busy parents to support your school group is a BIG challenge. I’ve created fun, short, info packed videos to help you do that.
The key is to show families what your school group does, how families benefit, and why you need their help to produce those benefits. Then reinforce that message throughout the year in an upbeat way.
School parent groups go by many different names: PTO, PTA, PTSO, PTSA, PAC, HSA, PTC, and many more. So I’ve created videos that refer to “school parent groups” where possible. There are also PTO versions for most.
Here are four ways to use these eye-catching animated videos to grab the attention of even the most back to school dazed parents.
-
Welcome letter / welcome packet - If you distribute your welcome packet through email, include links to one or more of these videos.
-
Email/text - Link to videos in your regular PTO announcements, especially when you are recruiting volunteers (which is pretty much every week, right? ;)
-
Website - Link to videos on your home page, membership page, or where ever you want to remind people that you need help!
Note: To get the URL for a video, put your mouse on the video you want and right-click your mouse and select “Show video URL.” Then copy that URL link address so you can paste it into an email, text, or web page. Parents will be able to view the videos on Facebook even if they do not have Facebook accounts themselves.
-
Facebook - While logged into Facebook, use the “Share” option under the video to share videos to your PTO Facebook page or inside your PTO Facebook group, depending on what your group has.
